The Outlaw Street Car Reunion (OSCR) got underway with the mission fighting the threat of rain that caused the Virginia Motorsports Park team to work against the elements to get the event done.
Moving from Beechbend Raceway in Kentucky to Virginia Motorsports Park there was so much anticipation for this event which followed the 2021 Woostock at Darlington Raceway in NC.
It was there that Team Buginga, with Jamie Miller tuning, made a mighty statement with their fast pace and consistent race car, and had them marching towards the final in Pro 275. Unfortunately the Woostock win and trophy eluded them despite their enthusiasm and energy to win. But that was all gone and forgotten by the time the got to OSCR!!
Meanwhile the Quartuccio family debuted their brand new Procharged 1969 Camaro built for both Pro Mod and Radial competition. It was at Virginia Motorsports Park that they and tuner Jamie Miller, had the Camaro on slicks. After only a handful of passes, they were all elated to lay down a 3.67 in testing. Then, changing the slicks for radial tires, they started testing and qualifying for a small but elite field of RvW at OSCR.
Proline customers Manny Buginga, Tommy Youmans and Eric Dillard (driving for Scott Tidwell) made the trip to Virginia to compete in Pro275. Both Manny and Tommy came directly from competing at Woostock in Darlington, NC and had no problem getting through the first round. The red Camaro of Scott Tidwell unfortunately spun within the first 100 foot or so and could not make the full pass.
Buginga and Youmans met in the second round with the old school Pontiac spinning early and handing the win to Fred and the crew. In the semi-final, Team Buginga with BCOP on board, made a nice straight pass with no spin to get to the finish line first with a 3.73 ET.
The finals dawned around fast with Manny Buginga pitted against the might of Shawn Ayers driving Fletcher Cox’s blown Camaro. Ayers got off the start line first but Buginga chased the Camaro down right to the finish line, getting the win with a 3.722.
It was an emotional win, with Manny taking on board that he felt the driver had been costing the team victory and wanted to thank Jamie Miller, Tim Davis, Jim Waits Franny McCarthy, Ben Hardy, Lil Manny and of course his wife Jen.

Ken Quartuccio was the only Proline customer that competed at OSCR in RvW. The story could not have worked out any better as they hoped to take home the trophy not only for Blake Copson but also the whole Copson family having to deal with such a tragedy as losing a son, brother and friend.
The new Serial Killer was no more than a week old when Jamie Miller tuned the Camaro to grab 3rd qualifying spot with a 3.59 in a small, but class field of top RvW performers. Stevie Fast went out to Jamie Hancock in a pedal fest in the semi finals and Ken had a bye into the Finals with a healthy 3.60 ET.
The final round completed the ‘dream debut’, getting Quartuccio the win over the nitrous entry of Jamie Hancock with another consistent, trouble free 3.60.
What a superb result at OSCR, that no doubt sets future expectations for further radial events in 2021!
